Walton County, Georgia Injury Lawyer

Car, Truck and Tractor Trailer Accident and Injury Resources

Practice Area photoWalton County was created on December 15, 1818. The county was named for George Walton, a delegate from Georgia who signed the Declaration of Independence. Only two other Georgians signed the Declaration of Independence, Button Gwinnett and Lyman Hall.

Walton County is part of the metro Atlanta area and it is home to many municipalities that, for some residents, serve as suburbs for the city of Atlanta and the city of Athens. The county seat of Walton County is Monroe. Some other municipalities and other neighborhoods of Walton include: Between, Loganville, Social Circle and Walnut Grove. The county has historically been comprised of mostly undeveloped farmland but as the population has increased and the Atlanta exurbs have extended beyond the metro counties, Walton County developers are buying up large tracts of land and increasing the number of subdivisions, forever altering the rural landscape. Walton County's current population is about 80,000, and has increased substantially in the past 20 years.

The major highways traversing Walton County include the following: Interstate 20, U.S. Route 78, State Route 11, State Route 20, State Route 81, State Route 83 and State Route 138.

Because of Walton's prevalence of major interstates, highways and surface streets, Walton County residents are susceptible to being victims in tractor trailer accidents and automobile accidents.
