Grayson is a town of about 800 people in Gwinnett County Georgia. The area was originally home to Creek and Cherokee Indians with the first European settlers appearing around 1820. James Patterson McConnell founded the town of Tripp in 1879. The town was called Tripp because it was considered a “trip” to travel from Lawrenceville to the town. It was not until 1907 that the town was officially called Grayson.
Grayson sits in the Southeastern portion of Gwinnett County between the cities of Loganville, Lawrenceville, Snellville and Dacula.
